Discord Roleplay

Discord has become the main platform for communication and roleplaying with other players and occasionally with shapers. In the off-season, it allows you to stay in touch with the community and prepare for the next season through roleplay channels. However, before starting, it's important to acquaint yourself with certain etiquette and policies. Keep in mind that none of these are hard rules that can be enforced. They are soft rules in the spirit of the honor system at LARP carried over to the Discord RP.
If you are a new player, you must unlock the roleplay channels by reading the Discord rules in the Mournfall server and following the instructions.
Noticeboard Channels
There are two noticeboard channels - one for official NPCs and one for the players. If your character doesn't have the Read/Write skill, you can still make use of the player noticeboard by pretending a friend wrote a message for you or post a picture. You can assume that someone else read notices to you if you want your character to know what is written on the board.

The noticeboard is a physical board attached to a tree at the campsite. Keep in mind, if you put something up on the board at midday, everyone will see you doing it. Without the Discord bot, you can no longer post messages anonymously.
The Tavern, Woods, Henge, and Town Center
These channels represent key locations within Mournfall where your character can interact with others. This is where you will roleplay by describing your actions and can speak to other people in character.
Keep it Real
Always consider the physical setting in Mournfall and what your character can realistically do. If you wouldn't perform a backflip during a game, don't describe it. Avoid lurking and reading others' roleplay. Be engaged and active while roleplaying—if you need to leave, have your character exit the scene. The roleplay channels function live, as if you were in the game, unlike traditional post-by-post roleplay without timestamps.
If you wish to keep your plans for mischief private, avoid roleplaying them on Discord! While we would rather people not lurk and read the roleplay, there's nothing preventing them from disregarding etiquette. To maintain secrecy, refrain from sharing sensitive information in the main chat.
Don't God-mod
You can only describe your own character's actions, reactions, and words. Do not take control of another person's character or an NPC. For example, instead of writing "Talissa walks toward the fire with Sasha following" you should use "Talissa walks toward the fire, motioning for Sasha to follow." This method allows Sasha's player to decide if they follow or not and in what way. Sasha may drag her feet, run, or refuse and the agency is left up to her.
Avoid touching, grabbing, or otherwise moving other players' characters, especially if you are not well acquainted in real life or in game. For example, instead of "Keziah put his hand on Sabrina's shoulder", you could say "Keziah reaches out toward Sabrina's shoulder." This allows the other player to decide if you touch them or if they want to knock your hand away.
Unlike usual post-by-post text roleplay, some players may be comfortable with each other in game to take liberties with the god-mod guidelines.
